Meet our team here at Wooroolin Veterinary Services

We pride ourselves on our service being delivered by a team of compassionate, knowledgeable and skilled individuals.

Steve Kelly

Veterinarian & Practice Owner (B.V.Sc.)

Steve graduated from the University of Queensland in 1981. He worked at various locations within rural Australia, including three years as a flying vet in the Kimberleys & Territory. Since then, Steve has owned and operated vet surgeries in Redland Bay, Esk and now in the South Burnett since 2004.

Steve enjoys working on all animals but has a particular passion for horses & cattle.

In his spare time, you'll find him out fishing or Clay Target Shooting!

Pauline Whitehouse

Senior Veterinarian (B.V.Sc.)

Erika Winter

Veterinary Nurse (Cert 4 Veterinary Nursing)

Erika joined our team at Wooroolin Veterinary Services in January 2018.  Having lived in the rural Kingaroy area all her life, she has a passion for animals and has completed her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing.

Erika enjoys working with our clients to help provide the best care for their pets.

'Days off' for Erika are spent with family and friends as well as her faithful dog 'Bruno'.  Erika also enjoys reading and travelling and has had the opportunity to visit Europe, New Zealand, Vanuatu, Lord Howe & Norfolk Islands.

Hannah Moyle

Veterinary Nurse (Cert 4 Veterinary Nursing)

Hannah began work as a veterinary nurse in July 2019 and has a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Hannah loves all aspects of Veterinary Nursing but is particularly passionate about animal nutrition and good management practices, believing prevention is better than cure.

Outside of work Hannah spends her time breeding and showing her Wyandotte chickens, as well as spending time at home with her husband and menagerie of animals. Originally growing up on a cattle property at Kilcoy, Hannah has extensive knowledge of many animals after years of experience providing animal husbandry.

Brianna Ziegler

Veterinary Nurse

Bri grew up in Goomeri, and has gained a lot of valuable life experience working her way around properties in Qld, NSW and NT.

On weekends she loves to fish, camp, and cook as well as travelling and exploring new places.

Bri has an absolute passion for animals, and loves to spoil her own dogs.

Bri is currently working towards her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing.

Rachel Schultz

Veterinary Nurse (Cert 2 Vet Nursing)

Rachel has spent most of her working life in the animal industry, and has many years experience in both Veterinary Nursing and the Retail Pet Industry.

Born and raised in Murgon, Rachel is a keen rescue advocate.  Rachel has 5 cats of her own, and one outnumbered dog, along with the fish and the birds!

On days off, she loves to dive head first into a great drama series and chill out with family.

Her favourite part of Veterinary Nursing is the 'snuggles', and the satisfaction of knowing she has spent her day making a difference to an animal in need.

Louise Cain

Veterinary Nurse

Louise was born and bred in outback Qld, in a small town call Jundah, 200 klms south of Longreach.  From a very young age she had a passion about caring and helping any abandoned or injured animal that came her way.

In 2010 Louise started work as a Veterinary Nurse, and loves every minute of her job.   Louise says that ‘one day is never the same as the next’.

Her days are full, and when she’s not in the Clinic, she’s looking after a variety of animals at home, and raising 3 young boys of her own!

Louise is currently completing her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing.

Emma Hafey

Veterinary Nurse (Cert 4 Vet Nursing)

Fiona Steele

Veterinary Nurse (Cert 4 Veterinary Nursing)

Fiona joined us in 2016 as Veterinary Nurse at our Wooroolin Clinic.  Growing up on cattle and sheep properties in far western Queensland nurtured a passion for animals during her early days.  Many hours were spent on her horse mustering and droving cattle, and back at home with a variety of dogs and cats!

Since completing her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing, Fiona has undertaken extra studies to gain entrance to complete a Veterinary Science degree at JCU in Townsville.  We are fortunate to have Fiona in our Clinics during her Uni breaks!

Alex Kelly

Administration (Cert 2 Veterinary Nursing)

Alex grew up trailing Dad (Steve) around the vet surgeries, and riding her ponies at home. This lead to some great opportunities and much time spent travelling around Australia and the world working in the equine and veterinary nursing industries.

Having settled back into the local area, she is enjoying vet nursing once again and says one of the highlights is the 'never quite knowing what will walk through the door today.'

Alex's hobbies include planning the next travel adventure for her family - and taking her Basset Hound to the beach!

Bonnie Brunner

Veterinary Nurse

Growing up in an animal orientated family, Bonnie has had pets from an early age, and it has always been her passion to work in the animal industry.

When not in the Clinic, Bonnie spends her time training and competing with her horses, often travelling many kilometres for a weekend event.

Bonnie is currently completing her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing.

Wendy Kelly

Veterinary Practice Manager

Growing up in Brisbane, Wendy kicked off a career in realestate until a horse with colic and a call to the local vet (namely Steve!) introduced her to the veterinary industry - she has been part of the Veterinary practice team for over 30 years now.

Wendy looks after all the financials and admins of the surgery and keeps our team full of smiles.

Hobbies include her favourite dog 'Percy' and spending time with her grandis Matilda and Charlie!
